Does Yamamoto's floating plastic react with regular plastic lures?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if you can store Yamamoto's floating plastics in a Plano box or with other regular old school soft plastics? I know some plastics will melt with both over time and you need to keep them separate,

I tested the ned senko by putting one in with regular plastics for a week and it was fine, no reaction. I’m not sure if the formulas are the same throughout their lines though.

I put a Yamamoto floating craw under a regular senko and put a 2 lb weight on it. Curious to see how it looks after a few weeks

I feel like I should have an answer for this but I don’t since every plastic in my boat is Yamamoto.  😆

I have a pack of the slinkos and the floating neds, and at least one of them says not to mix with other plastics.  I can confirm when I get home from work

I looked, and they both say to keep in original packaging

This is a good thing to keep with - either original packaging or if you do want to get different size bags for them, use what the bait companies do and get your laminated bags from HERE - various sizes from 3"x3" to 12"x4". These are what I use for re-bagging and even Elaztech doesn't affect these like it does OTC Ziplocs.

I just bought some. Hope they stand up tp Z man plastics which I'll pre-rig and have ready to go. I've experimented before and Z man colors don't bleed into one another. So far the Yamamoto floating plastics haven't reacted at all to the regular senkos

You should be fine - I've had my TRD Sticks and my Slim SwimZ in those bags for a couple years without issue.
