I’m not sure I follow

Guy was so old a lot of people probably haven't heard of him

Can't believe the young'uns don't know about my namesake? They have all trolled structure and break lines for bass right? Find something that floats, put enough power on it to troll, 5 - 6 foot stout rods, little cheap fish finder to find structure and stay on a break line and you're fishing. Half the time your plugs will tell you where to go to follow a break line. Spoonplugs rule!!!

Heavyweight BASS Fishing Record Broken by Paul Elias Part 1. Take into account that he caught way over 132.5 lbs, that's just what was weighed

The Lindners, who represent northern bassers.

Love the old legend guys you could watch on Saturday mornings. Many of them listed above. They could break down a lake, find a pattern and catch some nice fish without all the electronic screens of today. The young guys on tour are not as impressive. They grew up playing video games and just because they can read a monitor and cast to each spot on a screen does not make them elite anglers. Without their electronics, they would be lost. In my opinion, modern electronics changed the sport and not for the better. I compare it to - fishing vs harvesting. I feel we have way too many screens in our lives. Fishing should be a safe retreat from the electronic world and get intouch with nature. I think it would be interesting to have two pro tours one with electronics and one without to see the differences and which would be more popular with spectators. I would rather watch a guy fish, than stare at a screen. I know I could learn much more from one of the old legends.

Too much money involved from sponsors selling the destruction of the sport, it'll never go away and tournament fishing will forever be like watching people baiting deer with apples - no showcase of skill at all.

I appreciate everybody posting, some unfamiliar names I'll now be studying to improve my game

To replace the loss of one pro tour with screens, there could be a third tour where viewers would watch teenagers at a mall staring at their cell phones. The audience could bet on which one will order the most food. There would be a weigh-in where the teens would hold up their Sbarro slices, Auntie Anne pretzels, and Cinnabons.

They're already working on something more advanced than ffs, guaranteed. Will probably tell you the species and weight before you even make a cast
