What Are You Willing To Pay?

Featured Replies

I'm a minimalist.  I refresh terminal tackle and soft plastics "just in time".  Nothing in storage.  So the cost is very low, whether it's full price or on sale.  And unlike others, I use a credit card for everything I purchase if there's no penalty.  Always pay it off at the end of the month.  Not using a credit card in this way is turning down free money.  In fact, much of my tackle refresh is free based on rewards.

I have a reserve on most of the tackle I use regularly and those were all purchased at reduced prices. I also have a bunch that I've purchased on sale that likely will live its entire life in its original packaging.

When I'm in the market for a rod and don't want to build it myself, I'll pay full price for a St.Croix from a dealer I've dealt with for decades. I support the small businesses and normally pay full price when doing so.

the only thing I need to be spending on my fishing at this point is time.

Ooh that's good!

Ps. I did just spend MSRP on a pair of sneakers this morning. Gotta keep the feet happy.

I have super wide feet (4E / EEEE). Finding shoes is easier than years ago...but still rather difficult. Shoes that big rarely ever go on sale.

For fishing stuff, I try to look for sales...but in general, if I need it, I buy it.

gah.  this sounds nice.

I dont mind spending money on stuff.  I get butthurt when I waste it.  like I buy something I dont like at all, or cant use.

storage is also a problem.  nothing worse than picking up my favorite worm at the store just because I forgot I still have 6 bags in the storage bin.  grrr... your "just in time" things sounds kinda nice.  like how I handle groceries.

I haven't paid MSRP for a fishing product in years, and I avoid it as much as possible in all other areas of my life as well. What is something you're willing to pay full price for?

My time is valuable, so I choose to use it to hunt Big Brown bass not bargains.

Besides, once I made these purchases,

saving 35 cents on a pack of Robo Worms didn't really mean much.

I’m a digger. If there’s a bargain bin that could possibly have my favorite baits at the bottom , stand back and watch out for my elbows.
