The weather this week isn't looking too hot, stiff Northern winds and air temps barely reaching 50 degrees for a couple days in a row. I went out yesterday in the wind and the water temperatures were hovering in my shallow weedy river system right around 67 degrees. From what I have seen a lot of the bass have already finished spawning and are just in that weird limbo time between spring and summer. Anyone going out this week or are we holding out for warmer weather past Sunday? Any theories on how to hit them either now or when the temps are back on the upswing?

  If you've got shad, I'd be there before daylight chasing the shad spawn. I'd have a Super Fluke, Shower Blows, tandem willow Spinnerbait, and 110 or 130 Whopper Plopper tied on. If you don't have shad, go anyway, cause can't catch them from the couch. Your new PB is waiting on you. A regret seldom heard is " I fished too much".

I go as often as I can but I keep an eye out for the winds since I fish from a canoe. i.e., I do not go when there is a small craft advisory

This week's forecast does not look promising. "maybe Friday", we'll see.

I’m also a canoeist but just recently got waders… game changer for windy days

 

Absolutely! I would wear them all winter if there was no ice. Keeping the feet warm was the challenge. 😄

I’m definitely up for it! Any ideas on where or when? Weather’s been looking pretty decent lately.
