Agreed however I had to grab the Jigsaws and I can’t have too many CC Freeloaders to use as trailers.

Dicks gets so much of my money. 6th Sense buy 3 get 3 Rapala/Crush City buy 2 get 2 Strike king pipsqueak popping perches 3 for $5… not $5 each.. actually 3 for $5 Strike King crankbaits buy 3 get 1 Anybody throwing the 6th Sense Jigsaw yet? Picked some up to try out.

Got out early, no motor pond, all paddling. Water was low to mid 70s and real weedy. Low 60s and almost no wind to start. Couple on the popper, pile on the frog. Wind picked up and I Lost a monster on the frog next to the canoe.. but I persisted. Best fish of the day nipped the tail off a speedworm, I threw it back in tailless and worked it like a senko and smash. Then this was one hit the Elite Evo, which subsequently snapped off on the next cast… I spent more time than I care to admit fishing it out of its watery grave to fight another day. Not my normal trailer, I’ve been experimenting.. looks real good in the water.

Some interesting finds from the weekend I think the inventor of the 2nd rig heard about “the floating worm” and decided to make their own spin on the idea.

Well I bought a second one, it’s not in as good of condition as the one I’m the original owner of but it was pretty wildly inexpensive. I’m going to sell my original one and use the profit to make some mods to my Sportspal/maybe add another Sportspal to the fleet. I’ll lose my lifetime hull warranty but after a couple years I’ve realized it’s pretty indestructible so the warranty is mostly moot. For a throw and go the Sportsman is incredible, I bought it late 2023 and have dropped it in the water at least 200 times. It lives on the roof of my car Monday-Friday from March until November. Weekends belong to my Sportspal. With the 119 I can go from parked to paddling in under 5 minutes. Up early and have an hour to kill before work, I’m fishing… coworker ticks me off I’m hitting the pond down the street on my lunch break… wife’s cooking dinner and clears me to come home a little late after work… you get the idea. Swamp Girl knows a lot more than I do about the design but it’s very stable and I always thought it was fast but if she says a NEXT is faster I believe her. The NEXT seat is definitely better.. but I use a memory foam cushion on the 119 and it’s pretty good.

I feel like I’ve found the cheat code.. Sportspal is light, stable, and almost indestructible. To Swamp Girl’s point canoe/kayak hybrids are a good choice as well.. I just picked up another Old Town 119 Solo Sportsman.. it was a deal that could not be ignored given how good a boat it is for what I use it for.

Great fish.. I just packed a couple topwater lures for the am as well.. I’m hoping it’s time.

I may hit it too… if I can wake up, been a tough week.

I’ve been rechecking the site all day to post my findings… I’ve seen it lower I’ve seen it higher. I think this is definitely on the high side which was a little surprising since every other pond nearby that I frequent looks like they’re in danger of going dry.

That’s how I justify every purchase.

This will be an outlier in the data but I caught this fish twice 5 days apart.. in the same spot, I also had my worm pulled under a log and shook in the same spot 3 times in 3 weeks leading up to the first catch… I finally showed up with a frog ready for straight braid violence… second catch was on a Booyah Pond Magic Spinnerbait just outside the pads she’d been living under.

I work 10 minutes from the Nip, I’ll try to get by tomorrow before work to check the level. I’ve had a below average start to the season as well, I don’t keep meticulous records but I’ve been out 18-20 times and zeroed at least 1/2.. but it’s just starting to break lose for me now. I hope you reconsider… I probably wouldn’t still be alive if I hadn’t found fishing.

good job cleaning up the spot… and yes the “rigs” people assemble are often baffling.. half the fun of lure hunting for me is just that… examining the setup.

Found a bladed jig tree in full bloom today. I recognized the EVO because I buy them by the dozen but I legit thought the black and blue was some Temu nonsense. It is not. Nothing like borrowing dad’s $20 JDM bladed jig from his tackle box and whipping it into a tree.

Facebook a little and YouTube not as much as I should. Editing videos isn’t as fun as shooting them.

Oh and furthermore he didn’t use google to find this “course” it was linked on the Mass.gov website It was $75 and came with 2 certificates

My buddy did an online one, he sent me screenshots and it appeared to be ridiculous. Reminded me of my retail days when you’d apply for a job and they’d give you these little stories like “John was hired as the assistant manager last week but Tom has worked for the company 8 years, Tom pointed out John made a mistake inventorying and John wrote Tom up for insubordination.” Who do you agree with and why A. John, because chain of command? B. Tom because John made a mistake… etc etc. I can post a couple of the screenshots he sent.. then he sent me a pic of his actual “license”/certificate. So it’s legit just seems crazy.

Nice work, I also went trouting Saturday with a buddy that hasn’t fished since he was a kid. I was outfished in my own canoe with my own rods, but I think he’s got the sickness now. He’s been sending me links to gear he’s interested in.

I also got out for a few hours yesterday… locally I have 2 fishable ponds, I didn’t even get a sniff from a fish. I did hook and fight several sticks. I really expected a pickerel at least.

@TheSwearingAngler - you're a south shore boy, I'll bet you can figure out where to go. I did find some open water last night after work.. I have a plans A,B and C for Sunday.
