Show your ride...
1970 C1P 11 foot double pointed… I got it from another BR member the beginning of last season and have been slowly restoring/modifying it. It flips people out when I’m standing up trolling motor at 50% power fishing a bank.

I finally got around to rigging up some wheels so I can drag it into more places fully rigged. All I have left to do (that I can think of)is upgrade to a lighter battery and maybe add lights for night fishing.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
A buddy and I dropped canoes into a shallow lake today.. water was 57-59 degrees.. air temp was 40 degrees at 7AM and probably got to 48-50 by noon, wind was non existent until about 11AM.. overcast skies. We found active fish blowing up on bait at the back of the lake in heavy vegetation and worked the area over. These are my highlights Both caught on a chatterbait.

That might be a wrap
I tried doing the roof of my WRX when it was new, researched like crazy, bought all the tools, went through all the prep, removed the antenna which required dropping the headliner(on a car with less than 1000 miles in it) started off okay then it ripped. Right into the trash, antenna back on, headliner back up… I miss the car, but I would never try wrapping again. Also for the record I’m pretty handy and detail oriented. I say learn to live with it or sell it and buy what you want. You could also just cover it in stickers.. a kid just posted a video on YouTube where he emailed a bunch of tackle companies to see if they would give him free stuff and he got a lot of stickers(he got a crazy amount of tackle too)

how much did you spend this year on going after mr lmb?
If I had to guess 2-3k… 8 used reels from Japan.. only 3 rods. Technically got my 2nd canoe last year, that was as pretty spendy. The problem is I can’t pass up a deal, and I refuse to pay shipping. So if free shipping is $50 that’s the minimum even if I only “need” a couple bags of plastics. It adds up.

Frankenlures?
The drop dead ned… it’s a dropshot with a ned rig as the weight.. it’s fun when they hit guessing which of the 2 presentations they went for.

Improper to use the same lure as someone else?
I’ve given hot lures to strangers on the bank when I’m pulling the canoe out.. so yeah I’d definitely share with a buddy, if I had one.

What's your 1 lure/2 color choice?
Booyah pond magic white and purple, chartreuse ZMan TrailerZ on both.

Looking for a spot to fish near Fall River MA
So I have a buddy that lives just over the border in RI and he’s asked I take him and his 11 year old fishing. I’ve been looking to explore places outside my comfort zone (within 8 miles of my house) so this is a great excuse to travel to a different area. I’m looking for suggestions on some kid friendly bank fishing in the area. So far South Watuppa looks interesting. MAPaddler.com says 1/3 of the bank is accessible by foot, it doesn’t look it from google but maybe.. it also says it suffers from algae blooms. One of my local favorites is in an algae bloom right now.. can anybody tell me what Watuppa looks like currently? if you have any other suggestions please share. Thanks everybody.

Ark Rods....
I have 4 Lancer Pros, 2 spinning 2 casting.. they are all awesome for what I use them for… 2 of them I would say get extremely heavy usage, daily usage. 1 gets heavy usage in the spring and fall, and one gets moderate usage as an all around. As I’ve moved into more technique specific gear the all around MH has been used a lot less. I got these buy one get one but would not hesitate to replace one at full price..

A Tail of 3 Big Largemouth Bass that is 1 Incredible Largemouth Bass

South Shore fishing is on fire. Water is dirty everywhere I go. White frog or black and blue chatter is all that’s working, but they are working real well.

Yozuri Hybrid Issues
I use 12 lb as a leader on most moving baits and 8 on finesse. It actually fishes about one rating higher like 14 and 10lb respectively. Never had a problem, I use an improved clench at the lure and a blood knot to join to my braid main line. It’s been great inexpensive leader for me.

I’ve been trying so hard for so long. Fingers crossed.. 🤞… I never read the board right in the moment, I always look at the picture when I’ve calmed down and go “wow, bigger than I thought.”

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Hit my favorite South Shore pond (not the one discussed above) Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.. I was trying to figure them out Friday/Saturday to meet up with a new friend Sunday and put him on fish. Friday I caught 3 dinks in 2 hours before work, Saturday one dink in 3.5 hours before groceries. Sunday it all broke loose. caught this long skinny fish on a white frog at 5:23 AM I didn’t think my day could get any better… then I caught this Pig at 6:08 on a black and blue chatterbait Evo finally earned a pin.. I think.. 20 15/16 inches my understanding is they round up 1/4 inch.. if I realized in the moment how close it was I may have pointed the tail a little.. 5lb 5oz PB my new friend never showed..

Yes… this one too… I call her Ol’ Ripped Lip and I’ve caught her twice in the same spot on a similar frog.

Buying tackle
This is only my third season back, if I’m being honest last year I was out of control.. I had spent all winter researching and I’m a sucker for a good sale. Dick’s recently ran back to back sales on Yum, 1st time was 33% off limit 24.. 2nd sale was 50% off limit 36… so yeah I bought 60 bags of Dingers. They won’t go bad and I have one tied on at all times. Just last month St Croix customer appreciation sale was $75 Mojo Bass rods… last year I probably would have bought 1 of each. However I limited myself to 2 because they were for techniques I’m looking to get better with. Hopefully at this rate next year I should be able to really slow down on my spending.

One of my favorite ponds… almost always a good frog bite, a lot of overhanging bushes and trees to skip under… and there’s a 5 foot deep channel to the left of the island if your standing at the ramp. If you ever try to hit it again let me know, and we can hookup.. did you see the laydown in the third cove to the left?

How did I miss the topwater bite?
I was throwing a Spinnerbait along the outside edge of pads this morning when a bass blew up 20 feet out from the edge during my back cast… I stopped myself, adjusted the trajectory and threw past the blowup 10-15 feet, burned it to the blowup spot and then slowed it way down… SMASH. It was luck having the situation present itself and a touch of experience knowing how to take advantage fast.

Any vendors in MA that I can sell to?
No, that would be crazy.
