  1. Sweet score.. my pb came on that white booyah pond magic.
  2. I hear ya, but some of us can’t swing a boat… and the ponds I fish mostly can’t accommodate boats. My point is with the popularity of kayaks the canoe market is depressed and some canoes make a great fishing platform. I bought a canoe that’s like a kayak and is designed for fishing and I can tell everybody my Sportspal is better to fish from.
  3. Used Sportspal/Radisson Canoe… I have it all for about $1100. Used canoe, used TM, Blem battery, Lowrance HDS Live 7 on clearance. A lot of elbow grease and a little ingenuity. Everybody sleeps on canoes.
  4. I’m a canoeist and bank angler, I fish small water exclusively.. I tried a large lake once and the pontoon boats and I water skiers scared the hell out of me. Everything I fish is local and I have some favorites that rotate throughout the season. Pond 1 is 38 acres… five minutes from my house, it’s in a public park with tons of bank pressure, no real boat pressure but me. Dropping the canoe in is a struggle, there is no way to get a real boat in. My 2 best bass and best pickerel all came out of here, from the bank. I’ve put up a lot of big number days from the canoe targeting the plentiful laydowns with T-rigs, and spinnerbaits.. there’s an awesome frog bite June-August working the lily pads. I fish the bank before and after work all week but take the canoe out early weekend mornings with the aim of being off the water before too many lookie loos see how much difference the canoe makes. #2 and #3 are a 120 acre pond and the river attached to it ten minutes from work or home. I hit these 2 from the bank a lot at lunch.. like everyday. Sometimes before or after work too. Ned rig smashes on both sides of the road… big numbers with occasional size. Size almost exclusively coming from the pond side of the road. Spinnerbaits work very well on the river side but not as well in the pond. I’ve hit the river with the canoe once, there are a lot of log jams that are hard to traverse, I got a simpler canoe for next season to try dragging around the jams. There are very large fish in the pond side I take the canoe a few times a season and do okay but sometimes struggle to find the fish or the pattern. There is zero frog bite here. #4 is 121 acres, 15 minutes from home, hard to find if you’ve never been but a lot of people in the know fish it.. it’s kind of a local legend. I finally fished it this year, and wound up fishing it quite a bit.. had a great frog bite over the summer all sizable fish. It’s very easy to drop the canoe in which is the only way I fish it. #5 is 64 acres, 5 minutes closer to the house than #4 sometimes I set out to hit 4 or 5 and it seems busy so I hit the other because they’re right there. This one is also easy to drop the canoe in.. and the frog bite is wild… over the summer I dropped the canoe in at 4:30-5am a bunch of times before work at 8. It’s impossible to have a bad day at work after catching 8 2lb+ frog fish before punching in. What initially caught my interest was the only online “fishing report” for this pond essentially said good numbers no size.. I’ll admit that kept me away for awhile, but one day I set out just looking for numbers and found that fishing report was either total BS or outdated because I get numbers and size every time. There are definitely more spots I fish but these 5 makeup 95% of my efforts and catches.
  5. This is a transitional step from full on canoeist to kayaker.. I don’t think I like it enough to go full kayak. It’s considered a hybrid, looks like a canoe, paddles like a kayak. My Sportspal has spoiled me.
  6. I just came to say I can stand up to pee out of my Sportspal canoe.
  7. As much as I spent I wish I had spent more. I was too slow on the Bait Wrx sale.. nothing I would want is left… except maybe line, but I screwed up and bought a bunch from TW already… gonna be a light season of spending for me, unless pure decides 50% off again in which case I’m gonna go broke.
  8. I thought the same thing last time they were giving stuff away, but like 8 months later they’re still here.
  9. It sounds like we’re neighbors, I’ll be watching for answers because I struggle in the winter too. Last year I just leaned into pickerel fishing, which I plan to do again this year.
  10. Ha… boat guys… I’ll have the canoe out every weekend the water still classifies as a liquid… I’m a glutton for punishment. Good luck drinking the winter away, probably the smarter move.
  11. Thank you. I just started throwing deep cranks, is it any good?
  12. Yeah you’re right, I was actually thinking of leaving a thank you note for all the freebies. Most of it came from a bunch 10-12 year olds who likely borrowed from their fathers’ tackle boxes. I’ve watched them throw into the tree and make no attempt at retrieval.. they cut their line right at the reel leaving a lot more than they need to. They litter and murder fish, and they stabbed the hell out of the aluminum sheathing around the pipe in the video with a steak knife. I know I should support young anglers but this specific group is trouble. I’ve been giving a lot of the trouble group’s lures away to young anglers I come across that don’t irritate me and trash the place.
  13. This mornings haul above, lunch break swimbait below. Can anybody tell me anything about the brown crank(says deepdiver on the bill) or the swimbait? Edit. I figured out the swimbait.. catch co baby bill shad, gizzard shad color.
  14. I feel like I’m not supposed to advertise my YouTube but I had a hell of a haul this weekend. If you chose to look for it heads up NSFW language.
  15. I didn’t catch a single fish today, but check out the freebies. The red crank is a small Berkley Squarebull, I believe it’s supposed to float but when I knocked it loose that massive snap swivel took it under. I had to reach in past my elbow for it and let me tell you the water has gotten COLD.
  16. I’m happy you pointed out the new site, I logged in last night and thought I was having a medical emergency trying to navigate it.
  17. The nedzones I fished last fall were durable but not elastomer durable.. savage gear duratech is the closest I’ve found to Zman, the ned minnows are great if your a ned enthusiast like me.
  18. On todays episode of I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it…
  19. My experience is they love thump and flash, so spinnerbaits and chatterbaits do the best for me… I lean more on regular spinnerbaits until the winter when the weeds are less issue then throw more inline spinners. I caught this PB a week or so ago on a chatterbait with a diesel minnow..
  20. Wow.. just wow. I’m in MA and my whopper plopper bite has slowed but I’m gonna throw it a bunch tomorrow before work.
  21. Without question my PB bluegill… hit a booyah pond magic spinnerbait. They chase it all the time but this guy could actually get it in his mouth.
  22. Haven’t been able to check the giving tree for awhile.. waded out in ankle deep water to collect these last night. That soft plastic is a Lunker City Salad Spoon, I’ve never seen one before but I’m in love with it. Check the buzzbait out… Dude.. what is this nonsense???
  23. Found this guy in a tree my own frog got stuck in. Check out where they tied to
  24. I fish from a canoe and just got a motor a month ago, I’ve been trolling the plopper ever since and have had incredible results… I throw it a lot too but trolling has helped beat the skunk a few times. caught on the troll.
  25. I think my record is 42 fish on a TRD TicklerZ before losing it… I mean it was hammered but I think it had another 8 in it to hit 50… btw this was the moment I became a ZMan diehard.
