  1. One of my core techniques is throwing a weightless 4 inch yum dinger on a 3/0 EWG.. I currently use an Ark Lancer Pro Spinning rod 7’ M/H extra fast with 10lb braid to an 8 lb leader. The bites have been subtle the last couple weeks and I’d estimate I’m only feeling 85-90% of those “gentle ticks”… there have been several fish lately that I reel in my slack and realize it’s go time. I’m looking to upgrade.. is there anything in the $200 area that’ll get me to 95-99% light tick detection? I’ve never spent $200 on a rod before but figure if I’m going to it should be on this technique. Both these fish were hauled out of pads using this technique but on a different rod I was testing.. there was nothing subtle about either bite.
  2. If you need me I’ll still be in the ponds. I can’t split focus.
  3. I run braid main line on everything, it’s soft so when I have to mend it the tag ends don’t cause me much grief. I’ve been wading a lot and carry very little, just this last weekend I had to cut out a knot and splice the remaining together.. I exclusively use the blood knot for line to line connection.. I learned my technique from this video and can tie it in a hurricane if I had to.
  4. I haven’t run into anybody else videoing yet. I’ve had a handful of people ask me for my channel name and I tell them and also give the disclaimer that it’s exactly what it sounds like. I do a terrible job with YouTube because I have no dreams or delusions of it turning into anything. I swear too much to ever get paid and only catch a handful of truly impressive fish per year. I video because crazy stuff happens on the water sometimes , just this past weekend I snagged and landed a 35ish lb snapping turtle, nobody would believe it including myself if I didn’t have the video. I upload to YouTube to use their server space so I can rewatch my time out on the water when winter comes.
  5. I’m even more boring.. MA only.
  6. Sunday, South Shore as always… water was cold after the Nor’easter.. smelled awful trudging through muck but landed 2 swamp donkeys. Best feeling in the world.
  7. I can’t believe I forgot Debo, he’s great, just a regular dude that loves fishing. I also like the AggresivelyAverageAnglers and WendellFishing has grown on me.. all those dudes are about my age and sensibility.. TylersReelFishing is good, his 100 Pond Series is a must watch for bank beaters. honestly there’s too much to watch it’s a wonder I ever get on the water.
  8. I watch them when posted here.. I don’t search them through YouTube… you have a built in audience and YouTube is really just a server to warehouse your content.
  9. NDYakAngler is can’t miss TV.. when I want to try a new technique I let the guys at TacticalBassin teach me how (they do it). I make adjustments as necessary. MattStefan and TylerBerger both share a lot of good info as well. RealisticFishing is fun if you just want to watch a guy do whatever it takes to catch a fish… gulp minnows under bobbers. RichardGene is a master fisherman, I don’t really enjoy his hillbilly skits throughout the videos though. A guy I just recently found and really like is FrogManFishing theres so many more.. I literally only watch fishing videos from 7pm until I fall asleep, usually around 10.
  10. I’m also a canoeist but just recently got waders… game changer for windy days
  11. Me and tackle2thepeople
  12. I’m a fan but f the look 👀 in their mouth method… but you do have to catch that first fish.. Big minnow little minnow small craw? what I see more than anything though are antenna like 10:1… so when in doubt mimic a craw.
  13. Frog bite is on.. on the south shore. even a pickerel wanted the frog..
  14. Bait Monkey got me for both spinning models and the 7-6 Flipping stick… already have the bladed jig rod and although I don’t like white/silver for the money the quality does punch above $33 a rod by a lot.
  15. Also in MA and confirm the last few years the wind has gotten out of hand.
  16. canoes can have spot lock too… kinda… I just got anchor wizards to upgrade the system. edit to answer the question.. I don’t like the wind from a comfort perspective but it sure does help with the fishing so I work around it.
  17. No bass this morning before work but got on that crappie bite I’ve been looking for. Air temp was 44 at 5 am, 51 by 7:30 when I had to leave for work… didn’t get water temp, wind was non-existent which is what made me drag myself out of bed at 4:15.
  18. I’ve only caught one crappie so far this year… every time I go out I hope to get on that crappie every cast bite. I’m not a crappie guy but I’ve had 100 fish days that were a real blast.
  19. I have the Basspro branded Onyx A/M 24 for like $60… use the extra $ to buy a spare cartridge… I did something stupid after 3 seasons and had to repack it. The cord requires a sharp pull so I’ve never accidentally set it off that way. The best PFD is the one you’ll wear and for me that’s the inflatable.
  20. I put on a clinic Sunday, nothing big but the numbers, lost count… high teens maybe 20. Secret bait, secret pond. Only having this kind of success at one pond.
  21. Can an admin please tell me what I’m doing wrong to get my posts bounced. I put a picture of my PB and details of my PB lure and catch details and it’s gone. I’d like to participate here but this isn’t the first time my posts have been denied without reason.
  22. For some reason my posts need to be approved by admin, so in case I get bounced again Booyah Pond Magic
