  1. I would definitely like to fish with other BR members.. we’ve discussed it here before but it just hasn’t happened. I’ve planned a couple camping/fishing trips including one to the Saint Lawrence River… pretty stoked.
  2. There’s a lot of MA representation here, welcome from the South Shore. What I’ve learned is softer plastics have more dramatic action which translates to more bites but less durability. My favorite soft plastic is the 4 inch Yum Dinger, great fish catcher with acceptable durability. Most people swear the Senko is better but I just haven’t found that to be true(for my ponds).
  3. They definitely get bit. They had the b3g3 on Yum a couple seasons ago… I bought close to 100 bags of Dingas.. still working through them. They’ve also run it in 6th sense, some of my favorite squarebills came from that… the selection on 6th sense has really dropped off through DSG though. Great sales if you aren’t afraid of buying in bulk. I figure I’m going to fish the rest of my life and hopefully for an eternity after might as well buy what I like.
  4. I had to delete the Dicks app.. I placed 5 orders since last week. I will not need to purchase another chatter until deep into the 2030s and I have enough Crush City to last until I retire. I have an issue, stupid ice on the ponds.
  5. I like the cut of your jib, never thrown a bladed jig before but buys 30… I throw the regular evos, have about 60 but ordered 18 more. Just a heads up you may end up needing to invest in a bladed jig specific rod. I know people that can catch fish on a bladed jig using anything, I needed a specific rod before finding success.
  6. I spent less this winter than in the past.. so far.. but there are about 42 days to go so anything is possible. Rods were TW Sahara used on eBay. Most of my reels come off eBay.
  7. Anybody else having trouble with the TW sale? Nothing is on sale for me, then I notice this when I click through the link.
  8. I didn’t really get the opportunity to directly interact much with Tom but I know he was a valued member of this community and will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.. if there’s a heaven I’m certain as you walk through the gate Saint Peter hands you a Shimano combo and a tackle box with every favorite lure you’ve ever lost.
  9. I have 3 fish that I consider tied #1 Bladed Jig #2 Bladed Jig #3 You guessed it, Bladed Jig Happy New Year Everyone… see you on the water soon.
  10. Edge has 30% off gift cards? I’m not seeing that…Link? thanks in advance
  11. Throw a flashback mini in there.. if you don’t catch a crappie then there are none in there. GUARANTEED.
  12. The larger popper on the right (bluegill color) do you know the brand? I pulled one out of a tree last year and haven’t been able to place it.
  13. Bladed Jig Stick Worm (wacky and texposed) frog
  14. You need a Sportspal/Radisson canoe… if I make it up that way next year (it’s a goal) maybe we meet up and you try mine. If you can tolerate my language there’s a lot of clips of me standing and fishing on my YT channel.. I am not particularly graceful or athletic and have never felt uncomfortable standing in it. I even frog fish and rip gnarly hooksets.
  15. My boat is a canoe. There’s a pretty good chance I’ll be fishing until 12/31… I take Jan/Feb off and buy my license again in March. This is literally my only hobby so the 2 months I stare at the wall are life threatening.
  16. I see that now… I lived in Port Charlotte for a number of years.. was there for Hurricane Charlie. I’m actually gonna head to the other pond in that town tomorrow instead of the one we’re discussing. If you’re ever up here again though hit me up. Tight Lines.
  17. Second worst to break offs.. both terrible. I only had one legitimate break off I can recall this year.. had some picks bite me off though, comes with the territory I guess.
  18. Last night after work I decided I wanted to see what was going on with one of my favorite ponds that’s had low water for months. I figured all the rain would have helped… and boy did it. It’s the head of a river and water usually flows out of the pond into the river, but it was actually flowing in reverse pushing bait form the river into the pond.. caught one and a few perch real quick at the mouth of the river before heading home for dinner. Couldn’t help but wake up early and hit it again before work. Caught a few more and bent out a hook on a monster. As you can tell one of my successful baits was a Ned rig, the other was my flashback mini. The feed is on, we have time left to catch.
  19. Awesome day of fishing. Beautiful fish, beautiful trees.
  20. Fall 2023… flashback mini. stopped off after work tonight and caught this guy with one. I like full size bladed jigs too but the mini slays for me.
  21. Been a lackluster year for sure… I’m pretty sure I peaked last year.
  22. Well, I’m a canoeist.. but I max out at 8, because that’s how many my car will accommodate. I always bring 2-3… I pack heavier when going someplace new and I don’t know what to expect or I have no clue what they’ll want. 2 rods that I’ll say come with me 99% of the time are my weightless Dingah rod and my flashback mini setup. If I’m planning on Texas rigging the Dingah because it’s a weedier pond I’m using a MHF spinning rod, if it’s less weedy or I plan on whacky rigging more I step down to a medium. My flashback mini setup is a Med/Mod baitcaster rated down to 1/8 oz (which is the mini I throw) with a Scorpion BFS reel. I can also throw small squarebills, poppers and 60 size ploppers as well as downsized spinnerbaits with this and often do. Third and or fourth rods vary based on season.. when there are still healthy pads a frog rod is a must, I have 2 both are 7’2” heavy fast… one is it expensive the other is not. They are literally interchangeable in performance. I think frogging comes down more to the frog and the fisherman once you have a rod that’s up to the task. A bladed jig or Spinnerbait rod is either 4th string or moves up to 3 when frog conditions die down. For bladed jigs I have a Mojo rip and chatter… it’s money. Spinnerbaits I’ll throw on almost anything but lately I’ve been using a 7’3” MHF baitcaster. If a certain bite has been fire I’ll often carry 2 rods for that technique and or I’ll often bring 2 of my flashback mini (I have 5 rods and 3 reels) setups because it’s very versatile for the ways I enjoy fishing
  23. I’m gonna make a bold statement and say it’s the least weedy pond in the whole south shore currently. Come on out Saturday… I found few spots that really produce.
  24. Thanks, but I definitely was… but out of joy mostly, not frustration, although I did lose a couple fish which got me spun up pretty good. The 2-3 prior weekends had me wondering if I still knew how to fish.
