I’ve bought 60 bags of Yum Dingers in the last 2 weeks… 4 inch… slide it right into the worst of the worst, pull out a fish more often than not.

I’ve been buying those SVs used from Japan on eBay for about the same $$ for awhile.. that is a deal I would jump on if I needed more. Actually I could use another 7 speed.. here we go, the monkey is on my case.

I have a last gen Carbonfire Heavy Fast I got on clearance paired with a LFS that I got on sale… works great. You really need a Heavy Fast.

Frog season started for me a few weeks ago, there won’t be a day or time of day I won’t throw the frog until mid to late October… if the spot looks froggy I’m giving it a shot.

Another vote for the Lunkerhunt Compact Frog… both these came on it yesterday. I’ve had hit or miss luck as far as durability but they get bit and I have utmost confidence in them.

Hollowbody frog 100% … most exciting … catches big fish … I’m pretty good at it, although you’d never have known that from this mornings performance.

I backlashed(minor) my 17 Scorpion DC at lunch. Not all DCs are the same either. I got a used 17 Daiwa Tatula SV on eBay from Japan for $95 to my door.. I think Daiwa SV spool is the most forgiving for someone starting out. Just my 2 cents.

Mine seem okay, I’ll know for sure once I get them wet. I had a $10 reward credit so 2 swimbaits and a pack of yum hellgramites for $1.03 is a good day for me and the monkey. He almost got me for 5 evo elites but I don’t even like chatterbaits.

Dick’s Sporting Goods has Mach hardbaits 1/2 price and buy one get one stacked online, unsure if it works in store… I’m doing pickup tonight. I know they get a lot of hate but I got 2 Machshad swimbaits for $7.50, just goes to show how bad the markup is in the first place. I would never buy these at full price, and would probably pass at 1/2 price only because I’m not a swimbait guy, but for $3.75 each I gotta try them.

My .02 is worth exactly that.. I’m a braid to copolymer leader guy. 10-15lb high viz braid on spinning to 8 yo-zuri hybrid. 20-30 braid on casting with 12lb YZ hybrid.. 50lb straight braid for punching and frogging.

Booyah Pond Magic on Amazon… I never pay more than $3.13 and have caught monster LMB on them. Just wait for the color you want to drop to 3.13 or less…Just don’t pay more, if we start paying more they’re likely to raise the price… best secret I had, now it’s out there.

I got my drivers licenses June 20 1997… and don’t remember fishing a single day after that until July 2 2022 when my father in law gifted my wife and I a couple rods he can’t use anymore. I’ve fished probably a solid 75% of days since and spent about a quarter years salary. I never even had his kind of interest as a kid but fishing with my father was unfortunately terrible. I have no children so I won’t be repeating any of his mistakes.

You can’t beat the monkey, you can only hope he continues to let you eat and live indoors.

Addicted, Lunatic. not a little addicted, more like a legit crackhead… If I’m conscious, not at work, and the H2O is in liquid state I’m fishing… drop the canoe in at sunrise, fish a few hours before work, hit the bank at a different pond during lunch, hit the bank at a third pond after dinner. I dream about it, watch a YouTube video about a technique I “need” to be throwing and place an order at TW… truthfully at first I told my wife it’s cheaper than a “real addiction”, we’ve lost people to drugs/alcohol etc but at this point I’m not sure that’s true. I’ve been offered a job making 40% more $$$ and my number one point against leaving my current job is the new job will cut into my fishing time.. a little, not a lot but enough to hurt. When I think about moving I think about going somewhere warmer so I can fish all year. I will say this I had an incredible 2023, and it wouldn’t have been as productive if bass fishing was just some casual hobby that I just did when there was nothing good on TV or sneaking out for an hour while my wife went shopping. I am consumed and that’s okay. tight lines fellow lunatics.

This fish was on a Booyah Pond Magic Shad (white) color.. so that is my answer. I’m in the northeast so 90% of my fish are certified dinks.. the pond magic holds up well enough to the other 10%.

I bought an appropriate rod for froggin’ Black Friday 2022 so I threw the hell out of frogs over the summer.. it’s an addiction now.

I’ve never wore an elaztech bait out, I’ve always lost them first.. that said I’ve had several go 40+ fish. I resorted to buying cheap Ned heads from Amazon and I wear them out first. It’s nice that they’ll bend out makes unsnagging them easier but after you bend them back a few times they start bending out too easy on fish, and need to be replaced. I’ll go through 3-5 heads on that same 40 fish plastic.

@Mr. AquariumI’m in Whitman, so we have the same bodies of water.. 2022 I fished the same 3 ponds all the time, 2023 I added 3 more but basically dumped the one closest to me. I plan to try a few new each year, and cull the least productive.

Fish pictures start showing up on my phone 3/26 I imagine I went 10-15 times before 3/26… from first fish to last (11/5) I went everyday at lunch, most mornings before work, most evening after and every Saturday and Sunday… I’ve been about 15 times since 11/5 without a bite… so what’s that 250ish days?.. final answer. I fished for stocked trout a couple times.. not for me.
