MAGDRAFT QUESTION

Featured Replies

I've had a couple of Megabass Magdrafts collecting dust in my mancave, still in the packaging; today I took one out for a spin.  Good looking bait, it even skips pretty well, and I caught a big largemouth in short order.  "Great", was my first reaction.  Closer inspection revealed that one fish, although a big one, had torn up the $18 lure.  Knocked out one eye and ripped the hook holder right out of the lure's belly.  Can some of you lunker hunters tell me if this is to be expected,  are they really that fragile, or do they usually last longer?

They are kind of fragile, but they work. Well.
Bend it then Mend-It.

Zaldaingerous runs better at more speeds and is more durable and cheaper.  No real skin in the game - just my observation.

Pull out the harness and use mend-it to fix the hole.  Then next time buy the freestyle version and 6/0 beast hooks.  I love the freestyle but am not fan of the rigged one at all.  Harness is more of a pain than it's worth for me.

I fish the 6in version once in a blue moon but I have caught several on them. The hook rips out and magnet is almost worthless. I just put the hook in the hole as best I can and fish it. I think I have caught 20-30 on the bone colored one this year. 10-12 of those came on the same day.
