grr..was hoping to finally hit Clearlake.  should exceed 100 deg easily.   too hot for me.  even the kayak acts weird in heat like that.  the plastic expands.

sooo..  somewhat cooler are my local Lake Sonoma or Lake Berryessa.   shorter commute so I can fish into the heat longer since my drive home is quick.  my secret lake is much cooler, but the water is down so my launch is dry.

how do you pick which lake you try?  you look at fishing reports, or just go for it.  flip a coin?   I am fishing solo tomorrow so the decision is all mine.  the ocean swells and winds are not favorable either, or I would go and get a food fish.

my wife is out playing cards with friends.  I cant waste my "hall pass".

Berryessa is your best bet.

Anybody out on a boat in 95°+, I admire your savagery. That’s the kind of heat that gives me the chills!

Fish at night and sleep during the blistering heat of the day.

I chose poorly:(

I don't sleep well, usually up and on the water well before sunrise.

When it's going to be really hot, I'll fish until around 10-11 AM, then head for home and the air conditioner.
