OSP DoLive Stick Review

I got a pack of these in the 3.5in size last year as a freebie from JLS. I caught a few on them but I wasn't sure how to fish them and I wasn't really impressed with it at that time. So this year I went down a rabbit hole with them and tried a few different sizes (3.0, 3.5, and 4.5in) and colors (green pumpkin, crystal shiner, and gorimiso black) to see what worked and what didn't. Well all of them worked in one way or another. I have used the 4.5in on a no weight Texas Rig, a Free Rig, a Wacky Rig and as a trailer on a bladed jig. The 3.5in was great on a Free Rig and ok on a drop shot. The 3.0in was fantastic on a drop shot though but all three of these sizes have been killer on a ball head or strolling type head.

Are they better than a Wacky Senko? In numbers, it's close but wacky senko still brings them in. On the other hand, if the bite on a Senko stops, the DoLive Stick is way more versatile. It's like a senko and a fluke style bait in one. They also hold up for about 3 or 4 fish unlike a Senko that might tear after one. The thing I can't figure out is why this bait isn't talked about more. Also, why do fish hit this thing? It really doesn't look any different than a bunch of other baits I have tried.

In the end, it's been a fun experiment. It's a good bait that I will try to fish more in the future. I just hope I can get them at a decent price.

Anyone else use them? Like or dislike them?

The Dolive Beaver (creature) and Dolive Stick (worm/fish) had been 2 of my most important, consistent Free Rig baits. But the Stick is so, so versatile. It's a trailer, a Senko, a wacky, a jerk bait, a drop shot bait, a worm, a baitfish, etc etc In particular, the rocking and tail wagging on the weightless drop is something to see!

I too have always been surprised at how under the radar it's been for how good it is.

And you can see in the videos below why this bait gets crushed

@FishTank you dun it now. The first rule of fish club is we don’t talk about DoLive soft baits, Hunts jigs, or Blitz cranks.

The truth is the DoLive stick is one of my favorites. When I moved back to TN I gave my neighbor in MD a couple packs and he texted me later asking where to buy more. It shines at being amazingly versatile in a lot of conditions. Sometimes I find myself trending towards certain baits during certain conditions from past experiences (is windy so throw a buzz or spinner). With the stick it allows one bait to be presented successfully regardless of time of day, or weather conditions. Not getting bit as a wacky rig? Switch it up to Texas or free rig. Maybe put it on a keitech model 3 swim jig. How about just throwing it as a fluke?

A couple weeks ago I went out for an hour with a couple packs in two colors and crushed them at Chester frost on Chickamauga. When they’d stop biting one presentation switch up the terminal and they’d come back.

So many folks only talk about the beaver but honestly I have more confidence in the stick and craw.

Side note: The Hook Up runs bogo on DoLive a couple times a year. It’s when I stock up because prices are nearly in line with Japan direct.

Darn you! Stop making me want to spend money! 😡

Yes. It can do so much more than the Beaver.
