Better than BPS rods. Much lighter.  On par with Quantum Tours, the HMX54 style, maybe a little better.  You'll like.

I have several all stars ranging from Classics to Team. The classic compared to the Bionic Blade and Extreme, IMO, are better rods. BPS rods are heavy to me and not well balanced. I hope for $300 you are getting quite a few rods.

id say that the classic is better than all the rods that you mentioned they are really nice rods its all I use becaus they are not to expensive...... But deffinately good deal..

I used to have 6 of them (down to 2 :-[)  Those old All Star Classics like you are getting are fantastic rods.  I think they used to retail for $100 and I thought they were the best bang for your buck back then.  The Zell Roland Spinnerbait Special was my absolute favorite rod.  I literally used it for everything .......except spinnerbaits ;D.  Had two, threw one in the drink by accident and shut the car door on the other one. :-/
