Well I’m not sure it ain’t lol

I believe you, considering you asked about a floating fluorocarbon. 🤷

There is nothing inherently wrong with mono, do know that mono will absorb some water after being submerged for awhile. I have Big Game (a few thousand yards) and 50 pound Shakespeare mono that I tie short leaders for Gulf fishing and catfishing..

BTW, I’m using a Heavy/ moderate slow - glass/carbon rod by Evergreen. 7’3”

Before that I was using a Heavy moderate/fast Loomis IMX crank bait rod. 7’

The slight advantage of using FC line is smaller diameter per pound test with lower coefficient of line drag cutting through the water. The result comparing FC to Mono/Copoly is less line bow using moving lures. If you want FC to float use fly line dressing on 3’ of the in front of the top water lure.

Sufix advance is a decent compromise. Mono but with some HDPE fibers - notably less stress.

I use this too. For both spinner baits and chatter baits.

That Victory you mentioned should work fine for 1/2oz lures. I'd personally probably go down to a 3/8oz but you could still get a way with a 1/2oz. Would probably be very good for smaller ones like a mini max. Generally speaking this is a tough one to answer is there isn't really a specific answer that is going to be best for everyone. For example if you like to use braid with a bladed jig then you might want a more moderate rod. I personally really like the 736cb glass with a tatula 100 and 14lb fluoro...

If you can effectively cast your 1/2 bladed jig using a standard jig rod MHF or XF that is a good rod choice. Reason is 1/2 oz jig and 1/2 oz bladed jig have the same heavy wire jig hook. The rod tip bounce associated with Mod action crank bait rods doesn’t help with hook setting a heavy wire jig hook.

I generally agree with Tom on the moderate action with monofilament but if you’re looking for a relatively cheaper option with braid I’ll direct you to the following thread.IMG_5054.png.03a5537f019383238a94091558917bf3.png
