Need Hobie kayak pedal drive parts.

Featured Replies

I had a nut come off of my pedal drive while bass fishing last weekend.  It should have been an easy fix, simply replace the nut.  I don't like to do things the easy way.  I pulled the drive out to see what was wrong while still on the water.  One pedal separated from the shaft, and a few bearings fell out into the water.  My problem is, every dealer I call to get new bearings tells me they are out of stock on almost all Hobie parts.  Hobie has been sold, and production is moving.  Parts are not available.  Does anyone know where I can get new bearings?  Does anyone have an old pedal drive unit that doesn't work, that still has some bearings I could buy?  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

What parts exactly do you need?  My hobie guy is a hoarder which comes in handy.

you check with GossOutdoors?  He makes aftermarket stuff including some of the bearings.

I need the bearings that go in the drum that rotates on the main shaft.  They are about an inch long cylinders and I need 15 of them.   I just found a guy on the East Coast that has them, and I am trying to find a way to get them to me in Mexico.  If your guy would be willing to ship to Mexico, and would gladly pay the extra cost, and take him bass fishing here if he ever gets a chance.

I know how to get them to Mexico.  Just for the cost of one flight from Newark to wherever you are….

Of course it would cost me even more than that with the bait monkey and all…

my buddy is off Sundays and Mondays.  I'll call him tomorrow.  I can drop them in an envelope and "Hail Mary" it to you.    IF he has them.  I'll try.

@king fisher

I talked to Billy.   he said he doenst have any more new ones, but thinks he has them in his storage bins.  he wants you to call him.

I am going to PM you his contact.  if you buy them, I can put them in the mail for you no problemo!

Hi King Fisher,

     The two dealers that I am aware of that actually have some parts in stock are Mariner Sails in Dallas, TX. and West Coast Sailing out of Portland Oregon.

     Hobie just recently sold out to Bass Pro Shops a month or two ago.  Not sure if you have any Bass Pro Shops availability there?
