Found a neat book

I happened by an estate sale….. found a cool book, that is going to be my guide to some cool adventures.

It was published by eastern national park with USDA Forest Division. It has a list of lakes and ponds in Ocala National Forest. A lot of them I didn’t know they existed. I think go check out a few to bank fish and see if they warrant dragging a canoe too. Some have ramps, some are hike in and bank fish.
The book seems pretty thorough, gives location and directions, size, vegetation, ph all kinds of other things.

Most of the info is on two pages, so if anybody wants me to pm the info on a specific place let me know.
They couple were avid kayakers and canoers.  They also had a lot of other books and maps too. They seemed like very interesting people.

You got a gem!!!!!!!!  If I lived in Florida and had that book and a canoe I'd be in heaven!

I'll bet Katie would too!

Man, what a find. Love that Wildcat Lake topo map. A lot of information there. I've been looking at the structure on it - humps, depressions, points, etc. LOVE IT!

Let us know if you get out to some of those lakes, G

I’ve already have a few picked out, easy access ones.
A lot of work went into this book. With topo work, getting the depths. Testing the water, access points, and directions on how to get there.
I didn’t know the forestry department put out books like this.

This one was published in 1996, 1998. I’m going to stop in to the one near me and ask if they have other ones.
