Med. power spinning rod throwing small plastics in/outside/along edge of sparce weeds, would you prefer 10 lb (with leader) white Berkley x-9 or Spiderwire UltraCast.

No other suggestions please...

I’m an ardent 832 user in that scenario (yellow with 10 lb fluoro leader) but my dad swapped to 10# x9 last year for the exact same situation and absolutely loves it. Casts a mile, great visibility (white for him), hasn’t broken a fish off yet. Can’t compare to spiderwire but based on his experience I’d have no problem trying x9 if I was considering it.

I purchased a few spools of different size X-9 so I'm hoping that is the top pick! Haven't spooled any of it yet.

I use X-9, but not on a ultra-lite…. I like it, hasn’t faded much, and it seems to be the quieter than the power pro I was using. Can’t speak for the other haven’t used it.

I’m use 40lb, moss green, on my spinning rig for around docks and stuff.

Hope this helps.

X-9 will make the cut... now, if I could just find a spool in Genie blue color.

X9

Used both and neither is my top choice, but if I had to, X9.

What is your top choice? Why?

Oh man, I don't want to start another war arguing which braid is the best. Long story short, I personally like relatively hard braids with a smooth surface and good abrasion resistance. X9 has great abrasion resistance but its surface is not that smooth after soaking up some water. Ultracast has similar issue and it's a bit thick. Sufix 832, Smackdown, and Xplasma Asegai are among my favorites.
