26’ Vanquish or 25’ Exsense B

Featured Replies

I’m looking to treat myself to a high end spinning reel for neko rigs, Ned’s, wacky rigs occasional in line spinners and I am torn between the new 26 Vanquish or the the 25 Exsense B , It’s either the C3000xg Vanquish or the Exsense 2500 XGB. Looking for thought's and opinions, which would you go with? Is the Exsense worth the extra money? Thanks in advance

I'd get the Vanquish...for no reason in particular. I'd get the standard '23 Magsealed model, not the new '26 CE.

The vanquish is really light and kind of hard to balance a rod with. How long of a rod are you using?

I have the 23 vanquish and I would get the excense. But I’m not sure if it would be worth the extra money, just something I don’t have. Only played with an expense in store and it felt fantastic.

I have the Okuma Bass X 7ft ML , I’m looking for a quality spinning reel to pair it with.

Last summer I put together a nice combo for neko's and wacky's.

I bought the 23 Vanquish.

No complaints, happy with it.

The rod is a different story. Not a fan. NRX+ 852S. Terrible at casting. Regrets.

I can’t comment on that rod in particular, but I would encourage you to take rod into a store and mount both reels and see how they feel. That may be difficult depending on your location and that reels are high end.

If all else fails, you can maybe mount a small panfish reel and see how the rod balances with a light weight reel like the vanquish. Just be cognizant that this would only be good for a balance point of the combo.

I also do not care for that particular model. Doesn't perform well imho.

ya the 852s isn't the best caster. But the 892s is a great caster but it's not made in NRX.
