Does anyone else hate this?  Everytime I rod shopping, I always come back home with a stiff neck.  I don't understand why stores just don't leave them where I can pick out the rod without having to look up.  

I don't know.  Maybe they do that so people like me won't end up spending the entire afternoon there just looking.

Darn, hate it when they do that!!

Mostly it is to protect the rods from customers that can't drive a shopping cart, and small wandering hands.

I agree with Reelmech they are probably up to protect them and it saves alot of space.

Helps me find the fishing department when I walk into a new store.   ;D

Never had a problem.  They are at eye level for me.
