P-Line CXX

Featured Replies

Good afternoon guys, Happy Final Four to all - went to my local BPS last evening and picked up some P-Line CXX, 4# test.  I enjoy fishing with light line, and was looking to delve into my first co-polymer/fluoro line.  So after reading all the posts in the past on these type lines, I decided to try the CXX - going to use it tomorrow, weather permitting -

My question is, what should I expect from this line?  Generally I use Sufix Elite 8# test, and I enjoy its strength and feel.

I don't like asking questions before I use a product, but my main questions are directed at those that have had problems with this line, or think less of it than perhaps another type.  Thanks guys!

Hey Daryl

Is this the line you were talking about? P-Line® CXX X-tra Strong? If it is this is what I use for most of my fishing 15# and 17# in the moss green color. I love it and it never lets me down.

I also have used it in the 8,10,12lb. and it was good line. I never had any problems with it. But this year I am going to try some other lines, just to try something new. ;)

BassBeat101,

I like the line and I have used it. What type of method would you be using?

Becareful of line twist, spool it up right and you should be okay.

I use CXX on my baitcasting rods the lightest weight would be 8# up to 15#. I'm gonna try some P-line Evolution on my jig rod this year. When I get down to the lower weight lines for my spinning gear I've just allways used Trilene XL.

Use it for my crankbait setup.  17# moss green,  no complaints. ;)

I used it and liked it quite a bit until cold weather hit and it became difficult to manage. The line retains a lot of memory. I have switched to Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft.

I agree w/the above post.  I found the p-line to have more memory than a herd of elephants and the colder it got the stiffer it was.  Yo-zuri is better in my view and costs less in bulk.

I love it. If I had a "Go To" line, CXX would be it. I have full confidence in the stuff. I use it from 4 pound up to 25 pound test. The memory doesn't seem to bother me.
