Found one marked down from $139 to $89 today at my fleet farm. I have 2 of the gen 2. I really like the gen 3. Still palms well. Smooth as a gen 2. Not much changed. If you can find them around the$100 mark they are still a killer bargain.

I definitely will. I went out today and casted Ina. Local pond even this it’s freezing here. Waters not froze tho lol. It dialed in real fast.

i bought one of those to try and dont think its as good as the gen 2. like above the reviews overall have not been good which have led to the early clearance. changes have been made to one of the best reels I have found. I've been buying up used gen 2.

I have one. I'm not crazy about the drag. Other than that, it's fine. It's a single disk, white nylon washer. I should swap it for a carbon washer and see how that works.

I’ll have to pop my generator 2 apart and see if there is any difference never looked at the drag washers in one

I had one and sold it. It was decently smooth like the last gen and casted decent. I think for around $100, it is a decent reel. I am not a fan of mag trax too much tho.

i have 2 they fit my hand well and cast great ..i think ppl believe it has only mag setting for casting ..use both thats why it has a clicker on the crank side and your thumb ...any reel can be tamed regardless
