Plano boxes not hook proof

Featured Replies

Is there a secret to keeping hooks organized in Plano boxes?  I have several 3650's and 3670's and it seems like the hooks will move from one compartment to another on all of them.  What does everyone else do?

Andy

Yes,

Buy a falcon hook organizer and never look back.  You will be wishing you'd done that years ago.

Along with the falcon hook organizer I would also have to buy more 3700 boxes and a new tackle bag to switch over.  That is a little more than I would like to spend right now.

How so?  The Falcon isn't a 3700 size box.

I was under the impression that the Falcon box was a little smaller than a 3700, but too big to fit in my 3600 sized bag.  Will they it in a 3600 bag?

I guess I dont understand. :-?  I have a plano bag that holds 5 3700.  But I just replace one of them with the falcon box and have a little extra space on the sides since the 3700 is just a bit bigger.  The falcon imo holds just as much and better.  I would look at possibly just reorganising  tackle somehow to fit it.  Its the best box for little doodads that I have ever seen.  I never found a way to keep hooks and other accessories from slidding around in a 3700

Oops, I just noticed you said 3600 not 3700.

Anyway,  I dont know if a falcon and 3600 are the same size.  Actual box might be but the hinges might cause a problem.

The Falcon boxes will not fit in a bag designed for 3600 boxes. They'll go in a 3700 sized bag easily. They are in between a 3600 and 3700. That's the only thing bad I can say about them. I wish Falcon had went with one of the "standard" sizes. The hook box is the best, hands down.

I have the Falcon Terminal tackle organizer that I really like.  BUT like you, I was having trouble with some of the smaller stuff, small hooks, tootpicks, ... shifting compartments.  I found some foam rubber shelf liner at Lowes for fairly cheap.  I cut a piece that fit the lid exactly and glued it to the lid.  This pretty well seals each compartment and stopped the shifting of the smaller stuff.  It would probably work the same on one of your present Plano 3700 boxes and is fairly cheap.  Just cut the piece then test to be sure you can close and latch the lid before glueing it in.  After it has been in for a while it forms grooves where the dividers are so it gets easier to close.

use a wine bottle cork to arrange your hooks.  Protects the tips from rust, and you can write the size on the bottom of the cork.

Wish I could take credit for this, but it came out of a mag...
