U-40

Featured Replies

I have a couple of new rods and one old one that have cork handles. I’d like to treat them with U40 or something similar.

How does it work?

Good/bad experiences?

Anything I need to know?

Apply it thin, don’t glob it. Use a small craft brush or an old toothbrush to work it into the cork. Less is more.

It will change the color of the cork slightly. It may have a mildly tacky feeling for your first outing but that subsided quickly.

If you don’t have u-40 and don’t want to order any, Tipton Tru-Oil (for gun stocks). It works as well.
