Fenwick Bass Rods

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, has anyone tried out the latest Fenwick bass rods? I am so confused by their lineup once they updated them a couple of years ago. Their casting rod lure ratings are all over the place. You have some medium heavy rods rated at 1oz and other rated at 5/8oz. Same with their Heavy or Extra Heavy rods some are rated at 1.5oz and others at 3/4oz. 3/4oz for a Heavy? Their spinning rods are the same. I have a few of the older HMG and Eagle rods and I liked them, but I am really hesitant to try these. What are your thoughts on this?

My thoughts... a fishing rod, more than any other piece of tackle, should be handled by the end user before purchasing.

I didn’t notice that about the lure ratings. Tactical bassin recommends them and I think the eagle and hmg that I felt in store felt nice.

I have some of each line and I don't find them confusing. The moderate and moderate fast actions are moving bait rods vs the fast/x fast that are dragging rods. What model are you looking at ?

I currently use the eagle spinning and casting. They hold up very well. I’ve also had a good experience when filing a warranty when I bought an HMX through pure fishing. Overall, I recommend them.
