Hero in the Canoe

So, I'm guiding a hero at my pond this coming Friday morning. I'm a little nervous because I want him to catch some thick, strong bass. I know where they are, but he'll have to land his lure in some tight spots. If he can't, I have a backup plan. I remember the professional guide and our friend, @king fisher, stating that part of being a good guide is taking your angler to a place where HE can catch fish. Until recently, this wonderful man was disabled by Agent Orange and 9-11 dust, but thanks to a medical breakthrough, he can breathe again.

P. S. - And I baked him some chocolate chunk pecan cookies as a backup to my backup plan!

That's awesome. Thank you so much for doing that! It sounds like they did a lot for our country and now have a new lease on life.

Guiding is nerve wracking (I have only ever done it for fun for loved ones and friends), but it's important to remember just being out on the water is enough for a good time. Cookies are certainly a great idea 🤣

As always, you show a lot of class, and a big heart.

My buddy wanted to fish Sunday morning instead of this morning, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, we fished this morning and the hero had a great time. Bob from Tennessee is here too and he also had a peachy morning, although it was 36 degrees and the canoes were icy when we launched!
