What’s your guy’s favorite braided line

Featured Replies

Been trying out j braid.

Long time user of power pro and super slick v8. Never tried 832.

My experience.

for 10# I love j braid grand. It’s super soft, cast very well

Down side is the softness causes wind knots that must be cut out.

50# samurai braid feels very soft as well.

10# super slick v8, it loses color and frays over time. It’s ok

overall pick is Daiwa j braid grand or samurai for 10#

50# I like Daiwa samurai.

If cost is a concern power pro is fine.

Only issue I cannot tolerate is when the line digs into itself and ruins the cast. I get that way more with power pro.

  • I use Smackdown and TactX, and PeX8 on spinning. You just can't go wrong with them. That said, braid is a tactic-specific line, not an all-purpose line. It's best suited for vegetation and heavy

I have tried a lot of braid and all of it works good but for my money - hard to beat the Kast King super power braid - I use different diameter for different applications but generally use a lot of 50

Maxcuratro 50lbs is a special line. I punch the thickest stuff with it. Frog, braid to leader spinnerbaits, swimbaits. Fantastic line. I’m playing with 20 & 30lb now for straight braid whacky rigging

I ran the 65lb on a big bait rod. It’s basically the same as 50lb 832 diameter wise. Makes my FGs go through the guides a lot easier. It might replace 131 for me.
