July 4th kayak fishing and we got swim-by from a Great White shark.

It popped up to my port side and poked out its fin. I’m not gonna guess its size because they are all big to me. We were on kayaks in the Pacific.

It came up twice. The second time we could see the whitish lower body half. We elected not to bleed our fish for about an hour. Thankfully I sucked at fishing yesterday. My friends did okay but left the fish on the deck and not dangling in the water as we usually did.

Then a whale surfaced and took a deep breath near us. And it took a dump because we could smell it. It was not describable. Like fishy kerosene maybe. I don’t have the best sense of smell, but I did catch a whiff. My friends said it was whale poop.

This ocean kayak fishing is wild! So interesting. A boat would be nice some days. 😊

Nope. I'm super allergic to Carchardon Carcharias.

I had a huge grass carp slam into the side of my kayak Friday night when I spooked it out of the shallows at about 3am, that was pretty spooky. I couldn't imagine a Great White coming up next to my kayak.
