Swing Away / Fold Away Trailer Hitch

Featured Replies

Pivot bolt/Hinge bolt sheared off. Anyone ever have this happen? You would think I was speaking a foreign language when I inquired about a replacement bolt at several locations here around Chattanooga. Two places actually perform service work on bass boats. The other was a dedicated specialty truck and trailer repair and sales operation. Could not get any online help. Oh well, guess I will head to the local hardware store in hopes of finding a grade 8 bolt in the correct size. I would love to hear from anyone that has experienced this issue. Sheared bolt, not lack of service. 🤣 thanks in advance.

If your local stores don't have what you need, you might try etrailer.com or eastermarine.com.

Are you talking about a swing tongue on your trailer or on the tow vehicle?

I’ve been searching high and low for a ball hitch that has cups for the keeper cables/chains instead of fishing them under the bumper to the frame mounted hitch. I have a buddy who has them and I haven’t been able to find a duplicate.

I found a couple choices online. My post is awaiting approval because I put links in it. Just give it a few.

Hope you’re able to find a solution to get out on the water. Any particular trailer make or in the event we run into this problem?

Those bolts are pretty substantial, how did it get broken?
