Shimano Citica

Featured Replies

Is this a decent reel for the $120 price tag?

imho it is the best reel out there in that price range. i own 4 of them

Find a better one and I'll take 3 of them.   :o

The only thing better than a $120 Citica is a $100 Citica  :o

Awesome reel. Don't listen to the inevitable posts that will follow suggesting you buy a Revo this or a Daiwa that. The Pflueger guys will really try to hard sell you ;D Go with your gut. The Citica is a great value.

I own a Pflueger spin and a Symmetre spin. I will try a diawa BC at some point.

I have a Quantum older BC but want to start upgrading my BC's. The Curado is just a tad out of my range at the moment. Might be a while yet may have to buy a better rod or 2 first just thinking of what I want to do.

Someone please take this baitmonkey away.

I've got enough Citica's that I'm ashamed to admit how many but let's say several. I'm with everyone else, show me a better reel at the price point and I'll buy it. I've looked at Team Diawas both SuperTuned and not and don't see that they offer anything that I don't already have. IMHO where you might start seeing an marked improvment is at about the $250 mark. I've got a serious jones for a Chronarch 50MG to go on my Senko / fluke rod but I don't see it replacing the Citica 100DSV that's already on it anytime soon.

LOL ;D.....................Ceph stole my thunder.  I own a Citica and if you decide to buy one I highly doubt that you'll be disappointed.  Unless you also buy a Revo.  Then you'll wish you had bought two Revo's.  I did.  Seriously though if you are dead set on a Shimano you'll be happy with the Citica.

I bought the Citica 200D and am REALLY satisfied with it. Don't take this as gospel but have read where the new Citica is better than the new Curado (no personal experience)...

i've got my curado 100 b, and my cronarch 50mg is in the mail, i had the chronarch b but wasn't as happy as I felt like i should have been for that kind of money... so far i haven't thrown anything better than my curado though

I ended up buying a Citica off of a site member ( Hawgin). I've only had a chance to fish with it once but it does feel sweet. It feels "tight" like just feels like from very high precision which is good. I also noticed I had no birnests "0" man it realy makes a difference with a quality reel.

I've got a BPS extreme coming from Hawgin too, can't wait to put the Citica on it and try them out together. I'll post in a week or so how it goes. For now though I couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks for all the advice  guys
