I would like to buy a new spinning reel tomorrow. I'm looking for $60 or less for a pretty good one. It will be on a 6'6" or 7' rod, medium action. What would you recomend?

For that price, any of Shimano's at $59. I think it is the sahara and/or spirex. The Symetre, which is what I have is just $20 more.

You can also find on EBay the Rapala sxi6 for about $30-40. I have the size 20 version of this reel and use it as my drop shot reel.

I like the Shimano Sahara 2500 at that price point....can't go wrong! Alot of folks also really like the Pflueger President. I would play with them both at the store and choose which you like best

I picked up a Quantum inferno at Dick's couple of months ago.  10 BBs for $29 is hard to beat.  I love that reel.  I was in our Dick's sporting goods a few weeks ago and they still had them.

either a shimano sahara or an abu garcia cardinal,i have both and there are amazing and hard to beat

If a Shimano Symetre were out of my reach ($80),

I would resound the consensus, Shimano Sahara

Pflueger President 59 bucks right at your price range, my favorite spinning reel

An Abu Garcia Cardinal is the best spinning reel I've ever used. Depending on which model you get the price should run from about $25-$45.
