Well, I really don't know a lot about the rods, but I think Raul has recommended them at their pricing point. However, I would NEVER pay retail, BPS has their in-house brands on sale at different times throughout the year. You can probably pick up a combo with a Shimano reel and basically get the rod for free!

well im after the 6'6" heavy action spinning rod. my dad refuses baitcasting gear but wants a heavy rod for rippin big bass outta weeds like a flippin stick. its the only affordable heavy spinning rod i can find

The rod is good but not at that price, if I were to get a Bionic Blade I would wait until they have them on sale ( which happens oftenly ) and get it for 20 dollars less.

Or do what RW suggests, get a combo and you practically get the rod for free ( not exactly free but with a huge discount ).

with whay you have said- go for it but like "roadwarrior" says they are often times on sale for like 49 bucks.  They are a decent rod and for the application you metioned it will do the job.
