That's what I would use it for.  

Yes, for plastics with up to 1/4 oz weight. I would go MH power for jigs (mine are heavier than 1/4 oz). I prefer MH with moderate action for spinnerbaits ( and other "faster" moving baits)

That's the rod I would use if I could just go with one.  I don't know how heavy your jigs and spinnerbaits are, but I would definitely want a rod that somewhere in the middle for using all those bait weights.  Since all those baits are single hook (unless you add a trailer or even a treble trailer hook) I like the fast action for setting the hook quickly since they don't get hooked on as easily and quickly as treble hooked baits.

ok i figured it would be the right one. is it just me or do M powers on casting rods seem stiffer than a M power on a spinning rod?

I bought a Avid 6'8" Medium Power Extra Fast action. I'm in love with it.  :-*

Medium Power rods are capable of fighting any bass, but makes catching smaller fish more fun. For lures under 1/2 oz, casting is easier, too.

If you already have the rod and are trying to figure out what to use it for, then I would say it will work great. If you have not bought one yet, and are looking, I recommend looking at extra fast action rods too. I prefer working plastics and setting the hook with the extra fast. Either way, buy what you like, like what you buy.

BTW, what rod is a medium power and is rated for 1oz lures??? Most medium heavy rods are only rated in the 5/8-3/4 range for their upper limit.

I was thinking the same thing... Curious what company makes that rod.. My heavy is to 1 1/2oz and my MH are below 1oz.

It is rare but possible:

Lamiglas Competitor CC664 - 3/8 - 1 oz, 8-20 lb line, 6'6"  This is one of my rods and it is a medium action rod according to lami.  I think such rods are not too common. I love this rod.  It has more backbone than any other medium action rod in my arsenal and even my MH compre.

Me too man, this rod is grest for light texas rigs and little finesse jigs.
