BPS reels, where to service?

Featured Replies

I've got (2) BPS Extreme baitcasters, and a new BPS Prolite baitcaster that need to be serviced.  The Prolite is new but I think it may need a touch of reel grease and I'd just assume have them all done at once.  I also have an Abu Garcia spinning reel that should be serviced.  I'd love to send these to a "certain someone" but he doesn't service BPS reels. ;)  Anybody know of a good place that's reasonable and very reputable?

I thought about BPS.  I just wonder if they are any good.

Do you know if they have reel repair within their stores?  I have to go to Branson in Jan. and I could drop them off for a few days.

They do not service reels in their stores. Springfield, MO is the "Home Office."

They have a new store in Branson.  It's at the Branson Landing.  Pretty nice store too.

JB Just send them the reels with a letter what you need done. They inspect the reels to see if any parts are needed, they email you. they get like 13 bucks a reel plus shipping . You send them payment and the whole process takes about 2 weeks.

Anyone know of any other options?  I can not find anyone locally.  I'd rather do it locally but everyone here sends their reels off to someone and who knows what they do to them.

"Home Office" is in Springfield, not Branson.

Oops!

I knew that, but thanks! I corrected my post.

I don't know of any reel service closer to you than Spfld.  Bob and Nancy at the Catalog outlet do some reel work.  You might check with them and see if they would clean your reels while you are in the area.  417-887-7334 ask for the rod and reel repair at the outlet store.

I posted this once before for those reels that I don't service..

Tight Lines!!!

There is a grease port on the Prolite Finesse that is easy to put grease in and unless you used the reel very hard this summer a professional service job is probably not needed. A little oil for the bearings might be needed.

I think only the BPS service people work on their reels.

yeah I thought about doing that already.  I've done it to my other BPS reels and it helped a little

So what would they do different besides adding oil and greese in the lube ports?  Do they disassemble the reels and really check the gears, bearings, etc.?  My other reels are over a year old.  I'd like to service them to help them last longer.
