Are you intending to use it for a certain application or just a general "workhorse" rod?

All Star American Classic AC SBR2 - 6'8" medium Heavy/Fast action. Fantastic rod, great looking, Fuji reel seat and Fuji aluminum oxide guides. This rod is very sensitive and tough as nails. MADE IN THE USA (Texas). About $90.

The AC SBR2 is specified as a spinner bait rod, but I use it as an all around rod for spinnerbaits, plastics, jigs, even swim baits and occassionally frogs.

I have 7 All Star rods and the American Classics are my go-to rods.  They get most of the use, and abuse, and just keep going.  Great rod, great value.

Fenwick HMX 6'6" Med 95 bucks( They just went up 14 bucks!) here is the Link

I also have 2 All Stars, outstanding value also. The USA made thing in overplayed some as a lot of my Buddies use Shimanosand Okuma rods, neither made in USA and they are also fine rods, and i was very disapointed with the ST Croix Premiers, and they are USA made, There Avids rock though!

My Gander Mountain still has some of last years St Croix Avids on sale for $95. Maybe the best rod if still avialable in your price range.

Also I have a Fenwick HMG and I like it as well. I got mine at a local closeout a couple of months back for $59

I don't think you can go wrong with All star either from what I've read on this forum

some good rods in that range are:

team allstar IM-10

team daiwa light and tough

shimano compre

shimano clarus

BPS extreme

the st. coix premiers, ive heard mixed opinions on them. some people say they are good, some say the suck, some say they are alright. stay away from the triumphs though, ive heard they are horrible.
