Knots

What not do you guys use for the following:

Crankbaits:

Topwater:

Drop shot:

C-Rig:

T-Rig:

Buzzbaits and Spinners:

Weightless plastics:

Jigs:

I use the improved clinch knot on everything. I used to use the rapala knot on cranks that didnt have a split ring.

I use the palomar knot on all of them.

Palomar on a dropshot and when using braid.

Rapala knot on topwater.

Improved Clinch on everything else.

The same, if the Rapala knot is the one I know as "Loop Knot", and the improved Clinch is the same with the Trilene knot. Sometimes I'll use the "loop" on crancbaits, too

I tie a variety of knots just for fun: San Diego Jam, Uni, Trilene, Improved Clinch, Arbor, Albright, and Blood Knot. However, the knot I tie most often for all lure connections is the Palomar Knot. It's easy, secure and strong.

Palomar for drop shot

Everything else San Diego Jam 'cause it is fast and I can tie it with gloves on

Braid to split rings or hook eyes: palomar.

Braid to mono/floro: uni-to-uni

Mono or Floro to split rings or hook eyes: trilene knot.

I use the palomar for everything, i've got it down to where I can tie it in the dark, it's easy, and I've never had a fish break off (if tied correctly)

I use a palomar for everything.

Uni for everything except dropshot, which is palomar.  For tying braid directly, loop the line through the eye twice before tying the Uni.

Improved Clinch, if I need a loop it's the Rapala Knot.
