bait casting question

Featured Replies

want to try bait casting. don't have a truck or large trunk in car.

will be doing this for the first time and not sure how my success will be.

are there any 2pc bait casting rods/combo's out there at a decent price?

Instead of putting your rod in your trunk how about you put it in your car?

If this is your car

Hood

-----------

|  X    X |

|           |    X = seats

|   X   X |

-----------

TRUNK

Just lay your rod on the shoulders of the seats. It will not fall down. If its to short then lay it diagonally. No need for a 2 piece bait casting rod  (Do they even make those?)

I fit one peice 7' rods in my car all the time. I have a two door car also. There are two ways of fitting all your rods in. Many cars have a drop down back seat. I drop the back seat down and lay the rod from trunk to inbetween my drive seat and passenger seat. Another way is what AnimeOther described. Many times I have fit 5+ 6'6-7' rods + a cooler+ tackle bags/vests in my car.

Depending on your budget, Shimano's Convergence, Clarus, and Compre line of rods have 2-piece casting rods.

I have a Clarus 2-piece casting rod.  The convenience is there and they are sufficiently sensitive. If you have a Sportsmans Warehouse in your area check them out. I have seen the normally priced $89 Compre on sale for less than half price.  Clarus have an MSRP of $59 and I think the Convergences are either $39 or $49.

These are great bang for the buck rods that will perform for you, have sufficient sensitivity and more importantly satisfy your 2-peice rod requirement.

No, I don't work for Shimano nor am I sponsored by them, but I wish I were.  ;D

ya they make 2 piece baitcasters, check cabelas and basspro shops

you should be able to fit a one piece diagnoly in ur car, i can get my 7ft in my civic and my partners mustang.
