Daiwa Exceler baitcaster?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience with this reel? It seems like a great reel for the price.

I think it's too new for many people to have yet. I know it replaces the metal framed Procaster 100H series of reels (not the BPS graphite framed exclusive),I have had no problems with those 100HL's what so ever. I think BPS is also offering a new reel based on the Exceler called the TD-Pro.

Gotta agree with that!  Nice list of features for $70!!

I have the left hand version & it's a very nice reel.  I got it on sale during Thanksgiving & it was 20% off $70.

It casts wonderful & the mag braking does it's job really nice.  Also it has a swept handle, this is a very nice touch.  I thought I had to get the TDA Advantage or the Zillion to get the swept handle.  It holds a very good amount of line.  I had Yozuri 15 lb Hybrid, but changed it out to 40 lb braid.  Making adjustments is very easy & easy to set it up the way you want.

For a baitcast reel under $100 this is a winner!

what is the difference between this one and the new one offered by

bps in their new catalog

Looks like the TD-Pro has 3 more bearings and costs $50 more.  Thats all I can make of it from reading about the two of them.

I bought an Exceler for a friend I'm introducing to bass fishing.  I set it up and played with it for about an hour...  I hate to admit it but I was really impressed with this reel.

If all of them are like this one specimen, I have to think it will become a true favorite in the sub $100 reel market.
