Need Help On Rods

Featured Replies

I have been looking for a decent rod and I am wanting something that is solid and not looking to loose an arm or leg to buy it.  Any suggestions on a rod that I can use for jigs?

Man, that's like saying i want a car but don't want to spend that much. There millions of options most people will say be more specific as in give a price range.

Casting or spinning???

How heavy are the jigs rigged up???

Short rod for accuracy or longer rod for distance???

Price range???

Mono, Floro, or Braid???

I was thinking in the 100 range.  I am looking for baitcasting and I use floro.  Jigs are 3/8 to 1/2

I use a Team Diawa-S 7 foot jig model. I cast 5/16 or 1/2 with it and it does great. It costs about $104.

The All star ASR 805 and ASR 815 would be 2 I would look at.

BPS's RC series XPS rods..maybe the RCL702WD.

Falcon lowrider XG LFC 5 167 or LFC 5 1610.

Shimano Compre CPC 70MB or CPC X66MB.

BPS's is having a big sale on Johnny Morris Elite.

Team All star's would be another one.

As mentioned, the TD-S series would work too.

This is a no brainer; That Johnny Morris is probabbly the worst choice at this pricing point!!!!!!! That is the single most over touted line BPS Sells

Much Better choices can be had

At Cabelas yesterday:

119.00, Old St.Croix Avid Line, 10$  discount cupons at door for every purchase over 100 bucks=109.00!

All Stars' The ASR or Team Allstar IM-10's in ex fast or fast/MH 99.00

Cabelas TXL ( Last years Model) 6'6" med Hvy/fast 109.00
