Fireline Crystal

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me a reveiw or opinion on this line? is it a clear braid?

Nope not clear. It's sorta whitish but it sorta blends in with its background.

And that bs about no memory ::) forget that.  It is however pretty d**n strong, and super thin. Casts pretty decent. They say no memory but there is quite a bit, but it is pretty easily straightened.

I use it because the most of the water i fish is super clear, this seems to work pretty well.

I used it all last summer. I really liked it and i'll spool it up again this season. It's amazingly strong and casts really well. It's really tough to cut. What i'd like to know.. is this a "co polymer line" (because it doesnt use that term on it's package) and what is this lines biggest competition. It's awfully expensive. P-Line makes a co polymer line. I checked it out at BPS and i do not think it is similar to Fireline.

Berkley® FireLine Crystal is thermal-fused Micro Dymeena  :)

I am not a big fan and I gave it a bad review a week ago.  But I am still using it and catching fish. :-/

I think it is less visable than regular braid, but far from clear.

I used the stuff for a while.  It's not bad, but Power Pro is way better.  Fireline frays very easily, and I had a couple problems with leader knots failing, whereas I've never had that problem with Power Pro.

And Fireline Crystal is not clear in the water.

I tried Fireline a few years ago and thought it was the best ever the first 15 minutes I used it.  After that, it quickly became one of the worst.  I had high hopes but after losing several baits, I will not use it again. >:)
