All Star GT40X

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if anyone has used these rods?  I seen that bps will have them on sale for $50 during the classics so I was just wanting some opinions on them.  Are they comparable to the bps extreme or bionic blade?  Which would you consider the better buy since you can also buy the extreme for $60 during the classic?

Thanks

I was thinking the same thing! Why are they on sale?

I went on the BPS web site and this All Star rod. The only one that they have is a UL action! :'(

That's the only one that is on sale on the web site right now. The others are still regular price. the GT40x's are on sale during the fishing classic per the flyer.

I only buy the All Stars made in Texas  and Loomis rods but I will admit the GT40x for the money feels as good as any rod out there.

They have all the different actions in the store.

I have had on for about 4 years that I bought as a combo with a BPS extreme GT reel. It is a 7' MH action and is the best rod I own. I use it for my unweighted worm and soft jerk bait rod.  It is by far my favorite rod I own. I don't own any high priced rods. This rod is light and has very good sensitivity. I'm not sure if this was before shakespeare bought all-star, that could make a difference. I would say it is a great rod for the price.
