I am usually only able to carry a couple of rods when and where I fish so I was thinking about getting a new combo that can be used for jigs and swimbaits.

What kind of features in a rod and reel should I look for to use for jigs/swimbaits/maybe worms?

What size swimbaits are you looking to throw?

nothing huge, maybe up to 2oz at MOST

Ok, here 's the deal, I don 't have a swimbait rod, I have a 6'6" H power Shimano Clarus that I use for flipping that can handle a 2 oz swimbait ( even though it 's rated for up to 1 1/2 oz it can handle a 2 oz swimbait ) so I use it for those purposes Flipping and Swimbaiting.

For jigs per se fished in any other way except flipping I fish them with my M or MH rods.

Any 7'6 flipping stick shouldn't have a problem handling up to 2oz. Just depends how much you want to spend.

for jigging i like a 7'2" rod with a 7:1 gear ratio baitcaster.

You might look at a Shimano Calcutta 200 or 300.  They're easy to use and can cast a country mile.

The Calcutta is a bit out of my price range. I was thinking more like a Citica 201D. How would that do for jigs and some lighter swimbaits?
