Best uses for braided line

Featured Replies

I was just wondering that the best uses for braided line are? Example would be like topwater. What other good uses does it have?

Some guyz here uses braid for everything.  I however use braid for only a few things:

Flipping/pitching/skipping: 50lb Power Pro

Frogs: 50lb Power Pro

Swimbaits: 50lb Power Pro

Carolina Rig: 50lb Power Pro w/ a 15lb P-line Fluorocarbon leader.

That pretty much sums up my braid fishing.  Everything else I use P-Line Fluorocarbon and for topwater I use mono.

best uses for braid? let's see what I can come up with.

emergency repairs to blue jeans or rain gear. A small hook, with the barb filed down makes an OK needle. Stitch up the arse of your knickers and keep fishin

I like jerky when I'm fishing but it gets stuck in my teeth. Braid to the rescue. backup dental floss.

last ditch cooler. tie your six pack to the end of your braid, and drop  below the thermocline. Troll for 30 minutes or so. Voila, cold sport's drinks!!

Well now...............................I never thought of that.

Any situation in which superior sensitivity and zero stretch are a priority. IMO, most situations  ;)

Another huge benefit, especially for clear water or shorefishing situations, is the increased casting distance.

Fishing :;)

I can't top that 8-)

I say flippin and pitching in heavy cover along with fishing topwater frogs. In certain situations it is good for lipless crankbaits
