If I deadstick a YUM dinger or a Gulp nightcrawler under a bobber , which one will be more effective.  If there is no action on the rubber, I can only assume that scent will be the differentiating factor right?

Just saying......there are far better option today....maybe not 10 yrs ago!

This is just my opinion..  if you're going to use a bobber, then you should use live bait...the only way I see using a bobber with a senko style bait is floating it back under docks and such...otherwise  , just use live bait... Gulp does not outfish livebait... And there is no shame in using it if this is the route you choose to take... Nightcrawlers , shiners, creek chubs and crawdads all work great as bait for many types of fish !! 

 

Don't care for the gulp... I have had success with the minnows on a dropshot but still not my favorite... Also know people who use them jigging while Ice fishing...

 

As for those yum dingers.. learn to use them Texas weightless and wacky. You'll catch alot more bass these ways then you will "dead sticking "

Ok thanks.  I keep ending up in the live bait camp.  I was hoping to not bother with buying or finding nightcrawlers.  I think Im going to try and catch some shiners with bread.  Even better, let the kids do it.  Will give them something to focus on.   

are there any disadvantages using zoom in muddy and or stained water because of the lack of scent?
