Owner Wide Gap Plus  Hooks  - Awesome

Been fishing these now for the past month and my hookups have been great with the 4/0 and 5/0 hooks.

Doesn't take much of a flick of the wrists to set these hooks. That cut into the fish clean and they stay put. Not noticing big gaps in the fish from these hooks. That probably is due to not having to set the hook hard . This is resulting in a lot more fish being landed for me. Just very impressed. I was a Gammy and Lazer Sharp user before but I think from here on out its going to be Owner for my larger EWG style hooks. Using the 4/0s last night on my Ika I was able to land some nice 3lbers out of my dads pond. I guess the point of my post is to give these a try in the bigger 4/0 and 5/0 sizes. Very impressed.

IV ALWAYS BEEN CURIOUSE ABOUT THE OWNERS BUT NEER FOUND A WIDE GAP HOOK....i like when the hook lines straight with the top...

my favorite are the texposer wide gaps.....most underrated  hook on the market....perfect weight and balance for stick baits and kreatures....

but your 100% right....those huge hooks are the best.....i like the 4/0 size the best.....the trout guys look at me like im hunting sharks or something.....lol

I 've always said that Owner has the best hooks but apparently nobody listens .... maybe the price is waht scares most people away from purchasing the finest hooks out there.  :-?

Hardly more than the cost of Katsu. The quality is much better.Gammy has a select few styles I use still, but other than that IMHO Katsu sucks, waste of money.

BTW... cool picture Raul  ;)

Hmm...

Alot of guys whose opinions I value HIGHLY recommend Owner hooks. Even though I am 100% satisfied with Gamakatsu, XPoints and VMC, I'll give Owners a shot sometime.

Owner hooks are no secret Raul.    Hell they even sell em in Wally world.

The owner Rig'n hook might be a good place to start.  It works well for both trig and wacky.

Owner twist locks are top notch too!  (and top dollar   ;)  )

To me the price on hooks is not a big deal.

Paying an extra dollar compared to Gammys is not a massive difference.

if i had a choice between gammy and owner..owner wins all the way.I've lost more fish on a gammy hook than i do on a owner hook.I honestly believe the owner hooks are sharper.

I think katsu is actually sharper, but therein lies the problem. They are incredibly chemically sharpened down to a fine hairpoint(superline excluded). The durability factor is nil on these things. The very tips bend all the time. You could try to reshape the point, but its pointless, never the same.Owner cutting points will never ever dull until you have the unfortunate luck of snagging one in a rock or some other mishap.

If I can go through 3 packs of katsu for 1 pack of owner Id say owner are the best deal around, and Imo they penetrate with less effort.

Agreed.  The owner Cutting Point on most of their hooks looks like a bayonet.  It has a sharp point that fattens into a three sided blade to slice its own opening as it penetrates.  Standard needle points must tear the opening after the initial penetration.

Picture of the point.
