Just wondering what kind of rod and action and length you all use for throwing like a Lucky Craft Pointer 78 for Smallmouth and largemouth?

The 6 1/2" length and soft tip make this an ideal

rod for working jerkbaits and topwater lures. I

consider this a great option for an "all around"

treble hook rig. The AC66MF is an outstanding,

moderately priced rod.  I highly recommend

this stick.

the mbr 782 is an excellent option, as well.

St Croix Legend Tournament 6'6" Medium power, Fast action "Jerkbait" rod. Name says it all, but the Avid RW mentioned is a close 2nd.

I purchased the IMX MBR782 for that exact application, and it excels. I Highly recommend it.

I personally prefer a 6'6" M/MH spinning rod.

The frequent twitching action to me is MUCH more comfortable on a spinning rod.
