Wondering if anyone on here was using the Rick Clunn Lucky Craft crankbaits that bass pro has for $14.99 a piece.     Are the really worth $14.99???

I think they are. They are my #1 shallow crankbaits in most conditions.

i havent used the RC cranks much...but the Fat BDS was my top producer this year...in american shad color

RC 1.5 is my #1 fish catching crank for the year.

Heck yes they are - the RC 1.5 is a gold standard in my box for the "Bagley Killer B2" typa lure.      

I have two and they both produce very well, also have the deep diver, and it is great.  BUT, BPS has a knockoff that they put right next to the Rick Clunn bait, but for only 6.99.  It is even packaged similarly.  I think it is a better bait, at least where I fish.  I usually used the RC while I had my brother use the same color BPS version since he regularly loses lures high up in the trees...  He out fished me every time we went head to head with those baits...  We switched baits because I just couldn't believe he was better than me - it's a big brother thing... Well, when I tied on the BPS version it just caught me more fish.  We tried this out on at least a half a dozen occasions in different bodies of water... I would buy the BPS version, and will be stocking up the next time I go...

If you are not in a hurry BPS has sales on them every 4-6 months, you save 4-5 dollars per bait.

If not call them back.  Depending on which ones you ordered will determine the catalog code for the baits themselves.  The catalog I used was the 2007 Fall Angler and the code starts with '13' in front of the numbers.  Here are the codes for the baits themselves.

*Note ----  'CC' stands for Color Code.

RC 0.5 = 13-249-173 - CC    

RC 1.5 = 13-248-716- CC

RC 2.5  = 13-248-892-CC

RC 3.5 = 13-248-893-CC

If you need the DD or Deep Diver codes .... let me know.

There is a 70+ year old guy that I fish with - he makes his own jigs and spinner baits and throws them 90% of the time.  But he has started "branching out" in the last couple of years and started using crank baits more.  A couple of weeks ago, we were fishing on a small lake that was almost completly dried up two years ago, but produced some good quality fish in large numbers.  This year the area got massive amounts of rain so we decided to give it another try.  The water level was about 10' higher than we had ever seen it and there was this rock jetty that we used to fish around that was now under water.  We could see fish everywhere on the depthfinder but couldn't get any of 'em to bite.  We decided to try fishing the, now flooded, jetty.  He pulled out an RC CB that he told me he had bought several weeks before but had been reluctant to throw for fear of snagging and losing it.  He tied on and made his first cast - right away he had the first bite we had seen all day, but the fish (a pretty good one by the way his rod was bowing) made a run for a nearby brush pile and got wrapped up.  He manuvered the boat over to the fish and could still feel him pulling when the line broke.  This was the only bite we got all day, but I still don't think he will shell out the $$'s for another one.

in my experience anything with the name lucky craft on it is well worth the money, every lc bait ive ever used has always produced for me.
