uni knot vs. improved clench knot

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I use many knots, but mostly Palomar and Uni knots.  For spinnerbaits and buzz baits I use an improved clinch because its fast and simple to tie.  Plus, break offs are pretty much a non issue using 15# P-line CXX as SOP for these baits.

Uni knot here as well.

Later, :(

:-? What's a uni knot??

I just about tie a clinch knot for everything.  Once in a while I'll tie a Palomar knot, but mostly it's a laziness issue for me.  Clinch knot is fast and easy.  Palomar is a pain sometimes cause I have to put the entire lure back through the loop again.  A crankbait with two trebles is hard to do that with.

Might try using a rapala knot for cranks.  It leaves a little loop so the crank can swivel freely.

neither. Palomar.

try using a quick snap with your baits, tie a palomar , change bait's without retying everytime.they have them at most tackle shops.

i hope this help's.
