Featured Replies

I am looking to buy a frog rod and need some help do you hitf think the g loomis is worth the extra cash or is th TD land t good enough for I read that the daiwa have had some breakage. I been a daiwa person but interested in the loomis offerings. Plus with the price difference. I could get a mike I signature rod.  Any help is appreciated

do not get the loomis frog rod ... IMO the worst frog stick avaible ... i dont wanna bash loomis ,, but i have no ideal what they were thinking when they made the frog rod ... get any other rod ... i made the mistake of buying the loomis ,, i wouldent wish that rod on a enemey ...

I am a huge Loomis fan and have a bunch of IMX and GLX's.  But the Frog Rod seemed waaaay too heavy and stiff and I didn't buy it.

I use an Old Flacon Gunsmoke 7" MH and it works great and is light.

I agree with the Loomis Frog Rod opinion.

I ended up getting Shimano Cumura 7'MH Fast Action and I LOVE IT.  It light, has plenty of backbone and has a great warranty.

Thanks guys I ordered the daiwa frog rod. I have had a few 9:25:56 PM in the past.  I now just waiting to get a reel for it and dying to try out the new Ike 7 2 heavy rod

I tried to look up the Dawia TD land t rod but couldn't find anything by that designation. What model rod is it?

I assume he means L&T, as in Light and Tough.

Let us know how you like the new Diawa L & T rod. I've been looking at them for a frog rod. I think I was Looking at the 7' 4" model.

I have the Steez Swimbait rod as my frog stick.  Insane rod and perfect for frogs.  If you want to spend half that and get a rod that is probably 85% of the Steez, they make a Zillion rod with the same specs.   I'd pair it with a Zillion hi speed reel and 65 lb braid.  You're done.

The Loomis is way too heavy and I am a big Loomis fan and have a bunch of their rods.

Both Diawa models are beyond my budget. The highest priced rod I've considered is a Powell at $169 and that's stretching it.

I paid 129 for the t @ d at *** so it may be in your range. I am still in Vermont for a few more weeks till we close the golf course. I will post a review after I get a few days of fishing in with it.
