Anyone know where the best price on St. Croix Avid Series rods are?

Gander Mountain just had them on sale. The one I was near in NY had them for $99.99.

Last week I recieved 2 of them from cabelas on line for $99 each.

A little suprised at these prices as the 2nd most recent series was on sale for those kind of prices not very long ago at all. Those prices were to make room for the very recent newest series that is presently out.

No biggie either way because both series are known to be great rods and $99 is a good deal on either

I suspect the special deals were closeouts on previous models.

I haven't seen or heard of the AVC or AVS line-ups on sale.

I bought 2 casting models for $96 a piece earlier this week at a local retailer. There was a mix of the old and the new in the pile... I have to wonder if that was an intentional thing or if the intent was to just close out the old models. At any rate, 2 of the new IPC models for under $100 a piece is tough to turn down! Oh, yesterday my local Sportsman's Warehouse has a couple different models on sale when I was in there for like $100. Might be worth a look if there is one in your area
